About Harry
Integrative psychotherapy, in Edinburgh and online.
I am a UKCP-registered integrative psychotherapist working with adults in Edinburgh and online. People come to me with a wide range of experiences — addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, trauma and significant changes in their personal or professional lives.
Some know clearly what they want help with. Others have a less easily defined sense that something is wrong: feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed or unable to move beyond patterns they understand intellectually but continue to experience emotionally.
My approach brings together different therapeutic perspectives rather than applying one predetermined method. Our work might involve understanding how past experiences continue to shape the present, paying attention to what happens in relationships, exploring difficult feelings, or considering how you want to respond to the circumstances of your life now.
I trained at the Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University, completing an MSc and Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy with distinction. My training included sustained clinical practice, supervision, personal development and engagement with psychodynamic, humanistic, relational and existential perspectives.
Alongside my private practice, I provide psychotherapy at Castle Craig, a specialist addiction and mental-health hospital. This work has further developed my experience of supporting people affected by addiction, recovery and overlapping emotional difficulties, while remaining separate from my independent practice.
Before retraining as a psychotherapist, I spent over a decade working across recruitment, charity, education, workplace mental health, business development and mental-health technology. That background continues to inform my understanding of work, responsibility, ambition, professional identity, relationships and change. It also means I am comfortable working with people whose lives may appear successful or well managed but whose internal experience feels considerably more complicated.
I aim to offer psychotherapy that is thoughtful, direct and human. I will not tell you how you should live, but I will work with you to understand what you are experiencing, what may be keeping you stuck and what different possibilities may be available.
